Recommended Israel Beaches
It's no surprise that "National Geographic" has selected Tel Aviv as one of the top 10 beach cities in the word. The beaches in Israel are famous for the great sun, cold water and many good restaurants and clubs that are close to the beach, especially in Tel Aviv. Just remember to bring some sun-screen and a towel and you're good to go. Listed here are selected beaches for your enjoynment.
Beaches in Israel: Tel Aviv
Gordon Beach
Located right across Gordon street, south to the marina. The gordon beach coast is pretty wide, and you can always find many young Israelis and tourists coming there. If volleyball is your favorite game, you will usually find a group playing there. Entrace is free.
Metzitzim Beach
Located at the north of the beach line (Northern to Hilton Hotel, after Nordao beach). Most visitors of this beach are Israelis (but not only).
You'll be able to find a nice pub on the beach with a small playground and two vollyball areas.
Ha'Tzuk Beach
This beach will mostly attract Israeli's, as it's further away from the hotel area of Tel Aviv. If you decide to go to this beach because you're tired of too many tourists, you will find a nice and clean beach, with two not too fancy buffet restaurants and a lawn for picnics. Notice that there is a small entrace fee to get into the beach.
Beaches in Israel: Herzlia
The city of Herzlia is located north to Tel Aviv, and also lies on the coast line of Israel. Its beaches are well maintained, and attract many people who live in the area, and many tourists who stay at the Herzlia hotel area.
If you plan to pay Hezlia a visit, don't skip going to the Marina - you'll find a nice promenade, many restaurants, and a big shopping mall.
Beaches in Israel: Habonim Beach
Habonim beach was created by the wind and waves of the sea beating for many years at the sandstone of the hills. You can find many reefs, coastal caves and fountains waves. The whole area is very unique, and was declated a natual park.
There is no declared beach with lifeguards, but many locals go to Habonim Beach just because it's such a beautiful and natural beach, very quiet and relaxing.
Unfortunately, the beach is about 75km from Tel Aviv, so it's worth getting there only if you have enough time and have a rented car.
