A great piece of history from long ago, only an 1.5 hours drive from Tel Aviv
Near the Dead Sea, on the summit of an isolated cliff, is the Masada fortress located. The fort became a Jewish symbol for determination against the forein Roman government. Masada fortress is towering to the height of 450 meters east side and 100 meters on it's west side, which makes it harde to access by foot. 1,400 meters of fortifications and 4 meters thick walls make this fortress huge by any standard.
The special story of Masada became a myth, but we will let you hear it on site and not spoil it by writing it here..Within the fortress you can take several circular routes along the impressive fortress walls, visit the magnificent palace that Hordus has built and see the old public bath houses, water pits and food storerooms.
